Wendy is the founder of SparkplugU and the popular Sparkplugging *:) Blog Network. Sparkplugging *:) was founded in 2006 as a hobby site for Wendy to share her entrepreneurial expertise with other solopreneurs and self-employed business owners who work at home. Since she started her first business as a single mom living in her parents’ basement, she certainly knows firsthand the need for affordable, quality business advice and training from people who have been there. She is absolutely passionate about helping people who have a dream to become their own boss.

Today Sparkplugging has expanded to 15 content channels written by 16 expert authors and is one of the most trusted and popular destinations on the internet for people who work at home. Wendy and her content network have been featured on Entrepreneur.com, The Chicago Daily Herald, The Huffington Post, LifeHacker, Success Magazine, and Revenue Magazine. She has also spoken at several prominent business/tech conferences including SXSWi, BlogWorldExpo, BlogHer, SOBCon, Small Business Marketing Unleashed, and Utah’s Blogging for Business Conference.

Wendy has owned three businesses, written for Entrepreneur.com, and has also worked for companies such as Follett Software, Paladin Staffing, and most recently was Director of Business Development for Socrates.com. She resides in suburban Chicagoland with her husband and three children, and you can usually find her on the weekends taking pictures around Northern Illinois, being all domestic and crafty, or hanging out on Twitter.
